Hi guys!

Can anyone tell me if they've ever added Crushed Coral into their internal Juwel filter? I have low pH (6) and what to increase it to help with fish-in cycling. I've added a ball of CC into the back of the tank but that doesn't seem to be doing very much... I tried adding a back into the filter, between the black and green (i think) sponge but it made the tank water cloudy...

Has anyone added CC to their internal Juwel filter with success?

Thanks in advance!

Don't know how much you rinsed before use, but that helps of course. Don't know about that particular filter but if there is no spot that works then you could consider hanging it within the more active part of the filter output stream flowing into the tank - its only in the filter to receive water flow. (Hey, maybe you could hang it in front of a Koralia 1, raise KH/pH, have more flow to resist diatom algae and draw a smile from Dave... )

Yeah, looks like everyman and his dog seem to be suffering from low pH atm. Tho mine has always been low, straight from the tap...

I thought I'd rinsed it properly... There didn't seem to be much coming off it in the bucket. I may try again inbetween a different set of sponges. That's all the Juwel internal ones are, 3 sponges of different size, colour and I assume grade and a wool like flossy-type thing.

Or I may just get me an external filter! How do ppl rate the Tetratec ex 700's?

Did your mesh bag contain about a handful? How long ago did you add it? It can take up to two or three weeks to see results from adding crushed coral.

Raise kH and pH...never. :shifty:

I am very happy with mine around 2dKH. There you go, you raised a smile from Grumpy.

Dave.

I think Grumpy might have been the one we ran the more unusual experiments on
