Hello everyone. I have a 125 gallon fish tank with a silver arowana,4 redhooks,2 redbelly pacus, and 2 plecos,3 dats. I would like to add another oddball. But I need help with some choices. I want the ones that get large. I was thinking knives but I don't know if they will get along with my arowana and my other oddballs. I might get a knive but don't know what type?? I am going to the lfs today. They have a royal clownknife and some blackghost knifes. Both are 6 inches. How about wolffish?? I heard that they are aggrisive is this true??? They might kill the other fish??? How about water cows??? They can be peacufull. I have allready order a ornate bichir that is seven inches that will come in today. Please help with choices. Are my choices good. I order a good size cat to a 8 inch tig.

Alex.

P.S SORRY FOR THE LONG POST.

your pacus may get a bit to big for even your tank unfortunately so if you move them aside there will be plenty of other room for another fish such as a motoro ray.Wolf fish do get extremely agressive and should only really be kept alone as for the knives a black ghost would be a much better choice as clowns get very agressive

Thanks, for your info. I am going to upgrade to a bigger tank in JAN. I might get a black ghost knife and a clownknife.

I would hope you've got some severe filtration on a tank that size stocked so heavily.

Yes. I traded those fish in because they were getting to big and they were sick. I have one tank. Alex.

The Dats could use a bit of salt in their water so one might want to set up "Two" tanks and devide your collection.

Move the South Americans in to the "New" tank then since the Arow will get huge (followed bythe Pacu). Ghost would do better in the "New" tank but then again they'll hide most of the time. So Royal might be a better choice for your tank buster tank.

Wolffish (which one)? They have so many trade names that are using the term "Wolf" so you might have to help this old timer out on which one  . But with a name like Wolf I'd say they're better off in their own tank so that they can't eat the rest of the inmates :good: .

Water Cow? Only one I ever recall called that was the Manetees or was it the Dugons? Either case they're protected and are huge.

"Are my choices good"? Not my Cup O' Tea and the blend (to me) is much. I might focus a little more to a specific interest.

As for the "good size cat to a 8 inch tig" you have to remember they get big and should have plenty of room to move. Just 'cos a man can live in a 6'X 6' Cube doesn't mean it's fun. As Pat Morita would've said "Focus Pacuboy-san, focus". Or with this day and age we'll go with Tony Sinclaire "Moderation".

Thanks for the info. I walked away from the lfs with a tig, 2 more dats, a water cow (a type of freshwater gobies),and a royal clownknife. I will be doing some trade ins in Jan. My dats are fine in freshwater. -Alex.
