I presently have two QT tanks. A ten gallon with young angel which is qt for two weeks. Also a 26 gl that has two angels in for one week. Having read several posts it seems to advise getting all angels at one time so they grow together. I intended to have a total of five. So, should I get two more now and put them in with the ones I've purchased most recently? Or is the idea of getting them and letting them develop together meaning not adding adults to a tank of existing adults? Sorry if this seems confusing. The three Angels in quarantine are all small.

It is better to put the angelfish together at the same time, whether in the QT or the main display tank. The reason is because these fish are territorial, plus they develop a hierarchy within the group, and this doesn't take long to develop. It can vary; sometimes you will have a dominant male that will not accept other angelfish at all, to give example of the worst case, but placing the fish together at the same time usually works.

To your specif situation...I would be tempted to acquire the two new fish and add them to the 26g with the present two, and just before add the lone fish from the 10g. So within a few minutes, all five fish will be together. I would risk the quarantine of the existing fish as I think the benefit outweighs this. And in any case, one week is not sufficient to see much in the way of disease so you are not risking very much.

Thanks for your advice. I will follow this advice and get two more. Keep them quarantined in my 26 gallon for a month and hopefully then transfer them to a 55 gallon.

Interesting that you use a QT tank, many hobbyist dont. I used to hear a lot about that, and have always used them myself, but i dont think enough is said on forums about this practice. It has saved me a lot of sick fish over the years.
