Adding Ammonia

hi everyone,

i was wondering, how do i work out how much ammonia to add to my tank when i'm cycling it?

does it just go by test results or is there some kind of formula to follow?

eg ?mls or grams/ per gallon ?

When I cycled my tank, I used an eye dropper and I added a couple of drops waited 5min and tested the ammonia, I kept doing that until I got a level of 5ppm, then I wrote down how many drops it took so I'd know how many I needed to add w/o testing. Hope that helps.
