i used to have a rtbs which turned psycho when it got bigger and was beatin other fish up so i re-homed it. no however i have a tank with established robust fish severums blue acara kribs etc. do you think it could work adding a small rtbs . im thinking maybe when it grows it wont be able to push the cichlids about so much as mostly they will be bigger than it. when the shark was the most established fish it was a disaster but i miss having 1 asi love em . any thougths?

I had one with my dempseys and gold sev's and it completely ignored them, but he had a little pot to guard and they were to busy swimmin around to go in it :)

im tempted to try it again but a bit reluctant as i know they can get real nasty as they grow

Hahahahaha He's now very much at the bottom of the pecking order.... & no grief at all :good:

what i found with my old rtbs was that if a fish ran away it was doomed to constant bullying but if it stood its ground it was more or less safe. my sevs are about 7 inches and about 6 its more the geos that concern me as they are quite timid and will run rather than stand their ground altho they must be a good 5 inches and i would probably introduce a fairly small rtbs so from day 1 its the little fish of the tank.

mark, i used to have a full grown redtail black shark with my oscar's/severum/eartheater/plec/hoplo ect and he never had a problem, i killed it by mistake without covering my external intake and it got sucked up the pipe, my new full grown redtail does not mess with anything, just lord's himself around the tank, smallest fish in the tank are 4 channa pulchra and a male krib and he doe's nothing with them, i think its a problem when there kept in smaller tanks with smaller fish

Agreed, with the cichlids you have Mark you should be fine,
Mines like a scared Mouse, even waiting for the cichlids to finish feeding before even attempting to get food for itself, In fact my Flying Fox is more dominant than the rtb

My RTBS never causes a problem, the barbs ignore him and the lobster just doesn't care about him.

cool thats exactly what i was hoping to hear. that seals it im gonna get 1 at the weekend i miss my sharky :good:
