Adding 48 More Watts Of T5Ho?

Hi Guys

I am currently redoing my tank to become high tech, I currently have 48 watts of T5 HO over 37 Gallons, I was considering adding another 48 Watts to help carpet plants grow, Do you think that this is a good decision? I will have CO2 and PMDD

I personally wouldn't, the tubes are high output. It's really not about light when it comes to carpeting your tank.

This Hc Cuba was grown under 9 watts of light (very low light), it had excellent flow, C02 and TPN+ daily.

this is Hc Cuba grown under 2X 28watt T5HO in my 50g, with again good flow, C02 and daily P04 AND N03, with bi daily dosing of Fe and K.

what i'm trying to get at is that, you have plenty of light. You need to concentrate on the distribution of C02 right, it has been proved that when carpeting plants grow upwards rather than across the substrate, it's not actually the light. Its caused by a hormone responsible for this behavior happens to be a gas called Ethylene. Poor flow to the substrate suppresses the ability of the plant to rid itself of the gas and results in a buildup of this gas, which in turn makes the plant grow upwards.

wow at first I was like oh but its only a tiny tank, but then I saw your 50 Gal, very impressive. Seeing as though my tank is smaller than yours and has similar lighting hopefully I will have success. Could I ask what tubes you are using? I currently have a 10,000K and 6,500K GLO tube.
