Adding 2Nd Filter

Can I just stick it in straight out the box or is this going to mess up my levels??

Wash the media under the tap if brand new then pop it in to the tank, will take 6-8 weeks for the 2nd filter to be upto speed

Will it affect the main one?? I don't desperately need it right now as all my fish are juveniles, just thinking ahead as my Angels are growing quickly.

Are putting the 2nd in the tank as extra filtration or are cycling it then removing it to another tank ?

As long as you put it in there alongside your current one and not instead of then it won't mess anything up.

Angels wont appreciate too much flow in the tank so dont go bananas with spray bars.

No its a permanent filter, I have a 240 litre with an external 305, feel it needs a little more (or will do soon.)

@Tizer : Yeah I've just put it in, playing about with the settings, they got a fright when the spray bar came on!!

In that case will be fine mate wash the media and in it goes, after 8 weeks or each filter will be doing approx 50% of the work of the whole tank, if you ever need to remove the a filter for another tank instant cycled filter you just go easy on feeding for a week until both filter catch back up to 100% of the work for their own tank
