After finding a great LFS in my area (well a bit far about 45 minutes away) that stocks great plants cheap. I took the plunge and bought some Seachem Flourite to add to my tank in hopes of growing healthier plants. I mixed it with the sand and It looks great! Kind of wish I didn't even bother with sand. Does anyone else use Flourite? Does it actually help?

I use Flourite and it hasn't hurt. I don't think of high-tech substrates like this as a major factor for plants. It role is more that of a backup source of some of the nutrients for days when you somehow miss your dosing. (this of course wouldn't be true in an NTP approach, where the substrate is of major importance.)
