Hello,

I currently have a 37 gallon tank with 2 keyholes, a b/n and 4 guppies

I want to add a pair of kribensis and blue rams

will there be any incompatibility issues?

should I go for a different fish? cichlids just seem to be so hardy and eat almost everything

cheers

adam

Blue rams will need a temperature of around 28c, require a sand substrate and can be very sensitive to water quality/hardness. Kribs are much more aggressive than rams or keyholes and if you end up with a breeding pair, they could easily kill/stress the rams/keholes. I think for a 37g you have enough cichlids, perhaps add some more dither fish or some corydoras for bottom dwellers.

Well corydoras are out of the question because I dont have a sand substrate, could I add more keyholes?

i really like the shape of cichlids, i read that kribs are tollerant of keyholes but I dont really want to take any chances. I have tried yoyo loaches with very little success. Obviously clown loaches will get to large. I just need a good hardy fish.

You could add another two keyholes or two Bolivian rams, much hardier than blue rams, dont require the high temp and will be fine with the keholes and your other stock.

Yeah Bolivian rams are the best and would work great with your fish.

Bolivian Rams look perfect,

would I be better off getting two more keyholes or two bolivian rams?

I kind of want a mixture though

I just saw electric blue rams.. they look amazing! i couldnt find much information about them though

Eb ram are line bred blue rams. So they are the same for the most part.

Try and get a male and female Bolivian ram 2 males will fight. No more keyholes IMO.
