Some of you might already know what I'm talking about.

I frequent other forums besides TFF, one of them being a tech support forum.
I post there a lot and they have a nice feature that helps others with their issues.

Let's say I open a topic in the Tropical Fish emergency section, and I'm seeking advice on how to treat my diseased fish, after a few posts and maybe a month, my fish has recovered thanks to the useful community, I'm going to want to return to that post and mark the thread as solved.

That way, people who will be encountering the same kind of problem, will know that this thread countains a solution!
It's really good for google results as well..
Threads marked as solved have a much more rate of clicks than ones that don't have any [SOLVED] in front of it ;)

If this is not possible, maybe we should message admin or something for them to edit the title of the topic and add [SOLVED] in front of it?

Anyways, jsut my little suggestion, which I think would benefit everyone! :)

Cheers!

That's a nice suggestion.  It is incumbent on the thread starter to actually return once the problem is solved to mention such.  Many just disappear and leave us wondering what the outcome actually is...

I think that is a brilliant idea. I am sure a moderator for the emergency section could do that :)

It would also be useful to people who ask for help if rather than be asked "what is your stats" and no other help offered to be told to do a water change. I know that knowing the stats is helpful but not everyone owns a test kit and as most problems are attributed to water quality, suggesting a water change can ease the stress on the fish far faster than the op being asked to go and buy a test kit. Just my moan :)

This is when Chad needs to be on like, 24/7 (I know he is on alot) But he needs to see this stuff immediatly :p

It would be good, or if the originator or a mod could mark it closed maybe.

Yeah exactly, but the best would be to mark it clearly as resolved, because closing a topic doesn't always mean it's solved! :)

Actually I'm trying to see why this isn't already a thing since I turned it on some months ago. The settings show that it should show the solved tag if the topic is marked solved...the ability to mark it so should be turned on for the OP...I will play around with it and see.

So you saw it before it was posted o.o

And this is why this is the best forum I have ever found

Yes, I turned it on when I turned on the twitter and Facebook buttons that show up below each post. But there must be a setting I missed since I can't exactly figure out why the option isn't showing up. I may need to log in under my test account to see how it looks to members.

Well, it also sounds like its on the OP to come back and actually do that.

It is. They would have to mark it that way. I am not seeing any controls for it so I'm not sure about it...

Maybe users must have some special rights for the button to appear?

What is the addon you are using for this?
Maybe I can help sort it out! :)
And what version of invision are you running?
