Acidic Water

the PH of my tap water is 6.6, but i notice that the water in the tank will go down to 6.0 a few days after water changes
what can cause that?

This is probably caused by the biological processes by which the waste is broken down. How old is your tank? Do you know the KH?

It sounds as if you have no buffering capacity (KH) possibly combined with something in the tank such as driftwood that is lowering the pH. Also, old tank syndrome can result in low pH levels as the nitrate levels get too high.
