Acf Tank Set Up

At the moment, I've just purchased a 10gallon tank for an AFC... however, I don't have a light hood right now, I'll see if I can get one tomorrow when I go pick up the frogs. But I was wondering if the store doesn't have one in, will filling the tank halfway or 1/3 of the way full be okay for like 2 weeks?? I've heard they can jump but the guys I'm getting are about 3/4"-1"... will it be okay half full? Or should I make is 1/3??

How about covering with a piece of wood or glass?

You won't need the light/special hood. My hood is just some basic random top I found that looks like the top for a critter keeper. Just put a towel over it or something, no big deal.
