Hi

I went to my local fish shop and saw some beautiful acaras. They were named after their Polish name and when i typed that in on google i couldnt find anything.

I asked the shop keeper what kinda acaras they are but he couldnt give me the scientific name in latin.

SO. I need ur help to identify the acaras as my friend has already bought two.

Please list the scientific/common name of all the acara species that may come to ur mind so i can go look it up.

Thanks so much
ps. i did do a search of acaras on google, but i could only find Curviveps, and blue acaras. They looked nothing like the acara my friend has. :dunno:

The 'Green Terror' is really a type of Acara (Aequidens rivulatus). Also try A. Metae, A. Diadema, and A. Patricki.

Hmm...

Blue acara - Aequidens pulcher
Port acara - Cichlasoma portalegrense
Thread-finned acara - Acarichthys heckelii
Yellow acara - Aequidens metae
Flag acara - Laetacara curviceps
Golden acara - Nannacara anomala

I might be wrong but I think Chocolate Cichlids are Acaras as well, and your forgetting the big daddy of them all, the Saum.

Thanks guys

and special thx to Splish.

I have found that the acara is the
Golden dwarf acara - Nannacara anomala
great thing too as the other acaras are waaay too big for my friends tank.

I prefer Small fish. :D
