ACA 2005 Cichlid Convention

yeah the story on him is that he has been all over the US in shows there is also a Isthlam that is owned by the same guy that is just as amazing

I just came home, most of the show is taken down already. There were so,so many people. I was a runner for the auction for a bit, but then I became a slacker :zz I was there to work, but they thought the heavy duty stuff was man work  There were tons of guys working so..meh.
The auction was like a quarter of the way over when I left and I'd been there since 10, there are so many fish. I think it will go on all night.

cc~ After seeing the prices some/most of these fish went for....I would assume that fish would go over a few hundred. Easy. I'd pay 300.00 for him myself if had the cashflow.

My new red devil is here! I got him for a steal because he was stashed away in the auction only room. I paid 15.00 (what I bid in the silent auction) and I promise you that if he had gone up on the auction block he would have sold for over 75.00. People were going crazy for him, I saw many get whiplash when they walked by him and several stopped to ask about him. Mine, mine, mine! They didn't know about the 'back room' where the 'for sale' fish were B)

yes that fish would easily go for a couple hundred dollars. as would some of the other more notorious fish that travel all over the country. I can also say that those fish dont know what it is to breed yet. lol not until their owner decides to "retire" will they breed. it is the same case with my Crenicichla Frenata. he was in the ACA 2003 show in cicny, and was retired last year, I picked him up for 100 dollars

Wow amazing pictures.. Sounds like fun.. Someone should put in the word that there is at least one person in NYC who would attend something like this given the oportunity. Thanks for the pictures
