My Mickey Mouse Platy has been acting a tiny bit different recently. He's hides in the dark back of the tank near to the glass but is very active at feeding time. His fins are closed in whenever he's in the back but normal at all other times. It looks like he goes to take a nap because other than that he's normal. Sound familiar or should I be on the alert?

I should think it's normal! When my platys are 'napping' they go very still but I haven't noticed whether there fins are closed or not. As long as he's eating and is being normal otherwise like you said then I think it's nothing to worry about! :)

At first I was thinking it was a dithering problem (if a fish doesnt see other fish swimming they instinctively go into hiding because if it isn't safe for other fish it probably isn't safe for it) but if you sig is up-to-date that shouldn't be the issue.

Are you sure it is a "him"? It it was a female, she might just be tired of being harrassed by a male and wants some alone time.

-take this with a grain of salt.
