those look like ramshorns, pull as many out as you can
they won't do much damage, the odd hole in a leaf, and missing algae
look under leaves for eggs (lots of little white dots with a filmy layer) and squish them

they breed like rabbits.

if you have any friends or family with puffer fish (i think some loaches too), they make good dinner!

I think you should try loaches. I don't know of any other ways.

If your tank can handle 'em clown loaches would get rid of them.

As for other ways, you might find some threads in the invertebrates section about this, though I would think most solutions involving adding and removing veggies are prone to fail.

interpet's snail away worked for me one time.

will the loaches eat the whole snail or just sook the body out?
need to get to fish store as they are "breeding like rabbits" as said b4

the loaches will suck out the snail from it's shell.

I have them in my tank and I want them there to help control the algea. THey got into hubby's tank and I got rid of them by taking everything out boiling the decorations taking the rocks out getting new ones. Put half the water and the fish in a bucket and taking the tank and scrubbing it really well. I put the boiled decorations, new air hose, cleaned filter, and new rocks in and so far so good. It has almost been a week and no sightings. :)
