Aaaah A Snail!

the things growing on the plant have turned out to be snail eggs, whether this is good for the plant or not i dont know. There are know 7 snails that i know of and about another 6 eggs! ah well, i have decided to buy an assasin snail both for its beauty and its snail eating abilities so i guess the more the snails breed the more snacks he will have

I also have a problem with snails - I hate them! I've tried the lettuce and it didn't work - they seem to prefer my live plants, little monsters. I was thinking of a Clown Loach but my tank is not big enough, so it looks like stripping the whole thing, sterilising everything and hopefully that will sort the problem...or I might just get an assassin snail first to see if that helps...I don't really want to strip the tank. I will always sterilise plants before they go in there now, thats for sure.

I have two stunning 6" clown loaches in a 3ft tank, 110l and they seem to have stopped growing. Anyway I'm not bothered as they're a nice size just as they are. Had a very bad snail problem before I got these 4 years ago but they got rid of them all and no snails since. I didn't buy them for that purpose though and am not suggesting anyone should. I disagrere that you need huge tanks for them. Yes of course it's better but not absolutely essential as my two have proved in my 3 footer. Sometimes it's not possible to have bigger tanks.

Just looks like a pond snail. Just grab them and squish them when you see em. No big deal really.
