So today Ive taken delivery of 5 more Vieja Synspila :hyper: To go with my current VS Stevie. Quite a sight all 6 of them swimming around together, they range from 5" down to 3" (Stevie was 4", grown from 3" in the last month), the hope is to get a pair, then rehome the remaining 4 sometime in the future.

Need to source some good pieces of bogwood to make a better scape but for now it will do.

They have now been named, however, telling them apart and calling them by their individual names will take a while, until I know them all a bit better

So we have Stevie (as in Wonder), Frank (as in Sinatra), Dean (as in Martin), Sammy (Davis Jr), Charlie (Chaplin) & Bobby (Darin). :fun:

They are beautiful fish, I feel another tank is needed.......now I just need to find the cash and the space

I never quite 'got' Viejas, i always thought the colours look 'dirty' i do love Argenteas tho, i kept one for a few months until it turned into Freddy Kruger with roid rage :p

I didnt realise you have 6 now :S you going for a breeding pair? do they pair? or are they like some other centrals where they just kinda...'get it on' then don't bother with each other after the Fry are mature/removed? (unless they want to get jiggy again)

No they pair, although getting a pair can be problematic, so hopefully as these guys are still relatively young, they should (assuming they arent all male or all female) get jiggy some day. They do stay together are raise the young, the female taking on most of the work from what Ive read, they are fairly prolific once they get going too, raise the 1st batch, then start again a few weeks/months later.

I was contemplating some Argentea, but decided I love the Syns more. Although Ive no doubt temptation will bite one day.

They are so interactive, Stevie wiggles around like a nutter as soon as I go near the tank, kinda like Oscars really but more colourful :D

Cool :D Your Nic would look good with them.. until they start breeding :p lol

The Nic and one of my Severums (Efasciatus sp belem) were sold at the weekend, so they have gone to a new home :good:

Right now they have the ellioti and brasiliensis in with them, but they wont be staying in there with them if any problems arise.

nice group!, fingers crossed you get a pair. Did you get them from the same place as you have Steve from?

Hi, yeah they came from the same place, although I believe they came from a different source.

They are fantastic looking fish.
