hey!

had an idea, it probably wont work but hey

could you place a spraybar on the bottom of the tank, just above the substrate, so that when the fishes poo, the poop and debris is pushed to a specific point? easy too clean?

eg


O --------------> poop over here

It may get pushed up the front of the glass and thrown about the tank and that would look a mess!

I do that however it never goes where you want it to but it does now collect in a certain point which is mid to right front in a dip in the sand.

Funnily enough my first thought when I considered a spray bar was whether I could do this. Quickly my mind wondered on other things though... LOL.

Indeed it is with the first dip of the vac I can get the majority of the filth out then a quick once over the rest and I am done.

i have a spray bar fitted to thetop edge of one of my 2m tanks (opposite end to the filter chambers)
it does a good job of blasting all 'debris' from the left hand side of the tank to the right hand side, which makes it so much easier to syphone up!

This is a similar idea to under gravel jets. It does work, I've done similar in bare bottom tanks with a powerhead on the bottom & a sponge pre-filter. It either keeps the debris from settling, or lets it accumulate in one small area for easy clean up.
