----- cw: kind of gruesome fish death???? I mean nothing out of the usual I don't think, but still gross.

Okay, so I just moved up to college in NYC from Maryland about a week ago and brought my tank with me; five Neon Tetras, one Tri-colored Shark, and one Betta fish.

I checked the chemicals just a few days ago and only the KH was on the "monitor" zone, everything else was ideal. Today one of the tetras was dead (well, dying when I found it) out of nowhere, and he had been fine just hours ago. His eyes were missing and he was floating upside-down, still kind of fighting but it did not look good at all. I flushed him (very emotionally), but I got a picture first. [[ Picture ]]

Under his operculum looks really red which worries me about the possibility of ich, but it looks like all tetras have that as just part of their coloring. Another tetra died at the beginning of the summer also missing its eyes, but I don't know if that has any correlation. In that one's case he looked starved-out, but this one was the fattest of the group.

I did a water change and replaced the filter pad, but I'm so worried something's wrong with the tank.

Thank you, I would really appreciate help!!

It could be aggression in the tank... Would be good to list specific water parameters though. :)
