i have a tank comming and its 8" L x 10" W x 20" D.
i am going to install it as a refugium and i also want to fit my heater and skimmer in there :D could one of you awsome guys make me up a internal wall design so i can fit it all in. i have a red sea prizum skimmer.

would be greatful if one of you guys would help me out :D

I wont be making your design, but I think one reason why nobody has given it a shot yet is the lack of infomation.

There is soooooo many things to take into account/consider on your own aquarium, what you want your sump/fuge to do for your system, how large you want it (ie exact measurements), the order you want the system (ie. sump>fuge>return, fuge>sump>return, fuge>return<sump etc etc).

A "red sea skimmer"? Which one? Dont they have a few? What size heater? :) So many questions! :p

What do you mean "internal wall design"? Are you putting the tank in wall, and placing the fuge below? You could even be placing it above the tank and have your fuge over-flowing into the display for better survival rate of macro inverts.

You'll need to think about your system alot, and give us the finer details for anyone to help you. (I could give it a shot in MS Paint LOL). :good: (PS, just tryin to be helpful)

If the dimensions you have shown are correct, I would have thought that it was a bit on the small side to be of any use as a refugium, especially as you intend to house some equipment in it.

Yeah, those dimensions don't make sense in that order. is this just a basic 10 gallon tank?

It's a 7g, well almost 7g's.

How big is your display?

Whait is your primary goal in adding a refugium?

IMO if your tank is large enough you'd be better off returning that tank and getting one of the CPR HOB aquafuges. It also holds 7g's but it hangs off the back of your tank, comes with a pump, and is gravity fed. Hanging a skimmer off the back of the HOB fuge could be problamatic since the tank would have to be so far away from the wall. Hanging a skimmer in a refugium makes little sense to be anyways since it will be removing much of the life the refugium is growing.

If you are intent on using a seperate tank, then go with at least a 20g. I don't care if your display is a 10g. For the money you will be investing in gettinga a refugium in the first place why not make it worth while?

Making a refugium is easy. Is your display drilled?

We really need more info to help you.

sorted it now guys, the tank above was my sump tank, and by "internal walls" i ment the deviders lol.just gonna have a few lbs of LR in it and some algea so it dont need to be big. thx guys
