since the move I'm up to my neck in boxes and little time for tank decoration etc. Just as long as everyone in them is alive and thriving right!? well today I was bored and the hubby was under foot so I turned to the only sure fire thing I knew to bore the hell out of him....TANK PICTURE TIME!!!!! :D

It's only the 48breeder but i'll have more in the near future of the other 2 tanks (I still cant believe how much I downsized :-( )

I realize the tank will look boring and dull to some if not most but Tanganyikans arent the flashy bunch that mbuna/haps are so the decoration is more for function then flash. Pam Chin once described to me her love of "The little brown fish from the great big lake" as being original in it's own right and not following the mbuna crowd. I totally agree w/ her. :good: A work in progress, back ground, higher water column decorations....:

They are some lovely looking fish you have there , the babies are so cute

Great pics MF, nice to see something other than Mbuna for a change. :good:

Hey Mama,

Your tank and fish looks great. Was going to ask you about a calvus/shellie tank combo as I am setting one up myself. Selling my remaining Malawis this week hopefully, then will be setting up the 180 for a nice tang combo, probably get some cyps as well as a few Multis or the like, and a couple of Calvus two complement....

Have missed their character after having to sell my Front tank!!

Does my plan sound alright to you?

It sounds KILLER!!! wow a 180g tanganyikan tank...i'd be in heaven!

The shelly/comps combo is almost by accident really, after moving I was all freaked out about the water and would my best lil guys be ok, I tossed them in the most aged/seasoned tank and amazingly enough everyone is doing well... it seems to have boosted the gold heads to spawn or behave as if they are, (my hand has been attacked unlike before) and they've taken over my huge golden apple snail shell.

we'll see... the strappersi have left them alone..so far. I'll post if things change.

too bad about the fronts though :-(

Thanks for all the kudos guys!

shot some of the 110 tonight. I'm a minimalist if you can't tell :*

Very impressive mamafish,

Your fish all look exceedingly healthy and the water clarity is spot on. I can see why you go "on" and "on" and "on" about tanganyikan species tanks. The calvus and shelly mix looks really well. Just from seeing your tanks I think that my next tank endeavour is going to have to be a tanganyikan tank, and I will be asking you for advice.

p.s. Talk to you all in about three weeks, I'm off to America!!
LA - San Diego - Las Vegas - Yosemite National park - San Francisco - Portland - Seattle (Road trip!!!)

lol, no I meant a 180- litre tank!! Although if all goes well I would love to have a 180g again like I had for my Fronts, that was the business! (although a killer to move :fun: )
