I'm an 100% newbie, i have an air stone in my tank(i'm currently doing a fish in cycle(don't ask!!)) should i turn it off, or can i keep it running 24/7 ?

Many thanks in advance,

Mark.

You can pretty much do as you like with those things. Keep it on, keep it off, have it on some of the time.........

So long as you have other surface movement (caused by your filter or some other means), switching off the airstone is no problem at all.

Cheers :good:

BTT

my pump/filter points upwards so i always have moving water, was just worried whether the bubbles during the lights off time would annoy/stress the fish by keep turning them on or off, but you've set my mind at ease, thank you, i've got so many questions but not enough time!! lol ;)

No problem.

What some people do is to attach their air pump to the same timer as their lights, so the airstone is on when the lights are on, and off when the lights are off. Quite a good idea.

Sweet, was thinking about getting getting a timer, now i'm gonna get one, the only thing i'm not gonna invest in is an automatic fish feeder, i LOVE feeding my fish and don't wanna share that with anyone!! lol
