Hi there.
Found the forum while reading up on Platties.
Some very good info on here.
My partner and i are new to the fish keeping hobby, but loving every mintue of it.
We started off with a red cap oranda (Kimi) and a gold fantail (Miki)
Soon they has two new tank mates... two weather loaches (Pappa & Roach)
The came colin ( a common pond snail)
And last but not least - a tiny fantail ( Princess)
These have a home of a 60L tetra auqa art tank ( sadly i we know no its is a little on the small side, bad advice from LFS, but will be getting a larger tank at some point)
All very friendly - Love to be hand fed ( Althought not to often) Love their fruit and veggies!
We were missold a bristlenose plec as a cold water fish.... we ran our coldwater as a sub tropical for a little while but then decided it best to move the plec ( Biffy) into her own heated tank. So we got a matching tetra aqua art for her.
Joining Biffy are 6 Platties 2 male and 4 female. With a heavily planted corner ( for fry cos they will be coming..ugh) and plenty of bogwood.
Had an apple snail, but sadly died after only having her a few days ( didnt like being sent in the post i dont think)
So thats our Fish...
Look forward to chatting to you all and learning heaps more about the ins and outs of fish keeping
