Ok... So Most of you Know. When im 16 Im moving on to join the army...

My Mom said you can keep fish on site but to be honest. i think she's lieing..

Does any-one know if i can?

If Not i'll proberly give my tanks etc away. Or leave them for my mom to look after..

So Does any-one know if i can Keep fish in the army?

if Not then oh god :look: hope i cn still keep in touch on TFF

Can't answer your question but good for you! (In a non-patronising way :look: ) I work in an ex-military hospital that still has a lot of military staff and they're always going away on scuba diving 'courses' and skiing 'courses'. I often used to wonder why people joined the army but it sounds like they have some really great opportunities and get paid for it!

Keeps kids off the streets too! :good:

Yep the armys fun.

Signingup for 3 years first.

then after that i'll either stay or go.
If i stay i'll apply for officer rank ( Higher pay around 27,000 - 30,000 a year... gets higher though! )

give the local Army careers office a call and ask them :)
Will Do Later on this week! i dont want to bother them just yet :good:

Thanks :D

I Have two options..

- Join up and earn £13,000 a year ( New entrant )
- Join the College ( The rubbish Place ) And get £250 a week

Its good money.

but i like a bit of action...

might join up to the college for a year ( to buy a load more fish tanks etc and make you lot on the forums jealous of my awsomeness ) for abit of start up cash.

all depends on time i guess.

one year and a half left till im finnaly free from school :)

I'd go to college, the pay might be crap at first, but you'll get more out of it in terms of a career and income later on in life.

It depends where you go first.

Here in the states you first go off to basic training, (Boot camp) and there you are lucky to have a pen and paper. lol

After that, then you go to where you signed up for and get further training.

So, where ever you go after basic, that is if it is the same over there as it is over here, that will decide whether or not you can keep fish.

I know some of my friends went off to basic and they are now at college going for officer training, and there you live in dorms and then move out into a house or what not later, so then yes, you could keep a tank there.

But like stated above, it is best to give them a call and ask them directly. That way you would get a definite answer.

Good luck!

Here in the state you can join what is called ROTC (reserve officer training corps), and here they let you go to college for what ever you want and they pay for everything, and I mean everything! All you need to do is go off to basic in the summer when there is no school going on and then just attend I believe training once a month for a day.

After you graduate from college you can either go full duty for 3 years, after which you are free and can move on in life. Or I think the other option is you can just be in the reserves and still do your career and just go to training like once a month for a day. After your contract is up your are free.

they would be more than happy to hear from you,, dont even think that youre "bothering them" :)
True. My Public Services teacher said ( Public services is basicly. Arm, RAF , Navy , Police , Medic etc ) That they'd be more intrested for me to pick up the phone and give them a ring.

Thanks.

And hey i could always sneak a small 5 gallon in :) :good:

Are you in the UK or elsewhere? My brother-in-law is in the army and wasnt allowed to take out with him when he was on barracks, now he;s got an army house he's allowed whatever he fancies pet wise. Although he obviously has my sister to look after the kid and pets when he's away on tour like atm, he's on his 2nd tour and has been away for 4 months so far,,, a little long to go without a water change ! lol

Another thing is that they can move you around a fair bit, he was in harogate i think , then went to abingdon then got moved again to aldershot where he's at atm. not very easy for moving your stuff all the time, unless you do what he did and borrowed an army van to move most of his stuff.

oh and as for sneaking 5g tank in you probs could ! when my brother in law was on the barracks my sister stayed there for a week and no one found out , she jumped in the boot of his car. Army security is crap i showed his pass and they let me drive on although i look nothing like him!

Knox, to become an officer in the Army you need to have done some higher education, you need to be a graduate of some kind. After in finished University i looked into joining up, i was offered officer status. They do offer higher education in the forces, but you should at least have some A levels first. Sorry to put a dampner on things.

And More then 5 GCSE's.

Im Dyslexic So i doubt i could get 2 A Levels.

But 5 gcse's should be easy..

i have two already ( Religous and French (Dunno Why) )

But Im fixed on becomming an officer..

I Will Study as hard as i can to Atleast get 2 A Levels...

I Have a feelnig i'll fail maths..

Science i SHOULD be good at.

Keeping fish involes Science to some degree..

maths is just too complicated..

But I Hope i can get officer..

You should Join up  its fun :D My Mom was in The RAF. My dads mate used to run a artillary squad. And my grandad fought in world war 2.

So basicly it runs down the family.
