I have a small question about my protean skimmer  . When i first got it,it was pulling out massive amounts of . I was having to dump it out every day. But now i only have to dump it once every 4 days. Is that normal?

How often do you unplug it? Sometimes it takes a bit for the skimmer to get back into the groove of things.

And what are your nutrient levels at (Nitrate/phosphate)? If there's nothing in the water, then your skimmer can't pull anything out.

nitrates are pretty close to zero. and i have been skimming since day one. the guy that had it before me had like 15 damsels in it  . so is the fact that all the waste they produced was just now finally being pulled out by the skimmer?

If there were a lot of nutrients before, it would suck them out faster, and now that they are lower again it would slow down.
