a plec in a bowl

a rare moment when my plec was out & about during the daytime. here he is exploring the glass bowl in his tank.

ah, sorry! didn't mean to freak you out. yeah, can you imagine a plec in a fishbowl? scary thought!

sadly yes I can imagine it. As a matter of fact I know of a common in a 1 gallon hex with two rainbow sharks!!!

I told them (the owners) that it was a bad idea and why and they said oh when the plec get's bigger we'll just have to get rid of him. I heard a quite flush in the background.

edit: I don't recall what they had to say about the rainbows. It was one of those instances where you talk to people as they are buying fish and learn some horrible fish story.

very nice plec and great idea with the bowl inside the tank..

search for my pic ture topic on rescued from a bi-orb.....my 10" sailfin came from a 40ltr bi-orb...poor fella, doing well now though.

oh my gosh, that poor, poor plec some people simply should not be allowed to keep fish!!!

i don't know how many gallons 40 liters comes to but a 10" plec in an orb simply sounds awful unless it's a HUFE orb!!!!!!!!

but i'm glad you rescued him and are giving him a better home. props to you!!

sorry guys! didn't even think of how the title would sound. didn't mean to freak everyone out and if i ever saw my plec actually coming out of the top of his tank and lying on top of it i would be the one freaking out!
