A new tank

Erm I had an impulse buy.
36" bow front tank, looks custom made as the bottom
glass is the type with chicken wire inside it.
The hood looks to be hand made and has a light, I think the ballast will be replaced, as it is a bit old althought it works
It has a metal frame around the tank and came with
a metal stand, two very small tanks (1 of which has a light),
a stone bridge (argggggg), a rock type facia and two bits of slate.

All that for £20

hey, my 20 gal sat in a corner for three months until i found a place for it. til then, it made a lovely clothes basket....................lol

Yes at a matter of fact I will.
I can now order my blue and fire ring danios that I have wanted
for ages. I may even get some Danio sp hakari

I used to work in the glass trade and I know that wired glass is tough and cheaper than most 'cos it looks rough. Its good if you want to put a baseball bat through it, thats why they used to install it in places that are security minded. In a tank ... Ive never heard of it.

Is this tank hand made?

Im presuming that its wired all around except for the front??

It looks to be a hand made tank and the only piece
of glass with wire is the bottom bit.
I'll try and ger better pics later.

using chicken wire is an old way of reinforcing glass.... However they stopped using this technique like 20 years ago.... so it could well be a 70s tank. Still looks good though, deffinatly has potential.
