i have a female betta in my 65 gallon community and ive noticed lately she's starting to get some sort of lump under her mouth not right under but in that area and recently she's just been hiding and only coming out to grab some air, when i added her she was the dominant fish in the tank (even put my rainbow shark in check) so i dont think shes being pick on, her fins and everything else looks untouched so im guessing its to do with the lump i havent seen her eat in a week or so and that is odd because she was the 1st 1 to the top of the water jumping at my hand when i held it over and no other fish is acting this way, she doesnt look any skinnier so she has to be eating

not sure if i should post this in emergencies or not because its not really an emergency quite yet i dont think :S i hope shes ok cause shes the Poop ;)

I would remove her too.The long trips to the top for air can't be making her feel any better. Is it a smooth lump (you know what I mean?) no open wounds or peeling scales?

naw just a lump, she looks exactly the same as when i 1st bought her except bigger, my spare tank is the same height as the 1 shes in now so removing her wont really do anything except take away her hiding spot, and my other tanks i have set up all contain a male

im stumped :S

well all i can suggest is just keep an eye on her, if she takes a turn for the worst then u really gotta medicate her. on the other hand it may not be serious, maybe its just a skin growth, like a mole or sumthing :D

surely you have some 1 gallon (or more) container around the house that you could put her in.
or do you have a breeder net?

well a quick update, when down to feed them this morning and :rip:

her stomache and head was all white  and her mouth was stuck open but i didnt see anything stuck in there
