I am just so excited with my little fry, I thought I would show you a video and then add to the thread as he/she grows.

How old is he/she?

I think he/she is about 2 weeks old. When I caught him I saw that his tail was formed and his fins were complete so I thought he'd been in there about a week already.
This would be his 3rd week I think but i'm not sure. He is different again from that video. Got more of a yellow tinge to him and his tail is darkening :D

I had similar colour fry and it turned out orange/red colour.
Congratulations

Thanks Snazy :D I can't wait. That video was taken last week -wed/thurs can't remember and it's funny you should say orange/red, I took pics of him this morning and his belly is orange/red! I will post pics don't know if you will be able to make it out.

He is almost tetra size so I don't know if I should keep him in the trap for another week and then let him out or let him out just now.

Why not let it out? The male platy seems to be completely ignoring the fry and, at 3 weeks, it can probably do fine in the main tank as long as you only have platies and swordtails.
You have a very colorful location on photobucket. it reminds me of one of the aisles in a toy store where everything is pink.

Thanks for the advice, I am just so scared he is going to be eaten. I think he's too big now to fit in their mouths but I don't want to get it wrong as i'd feel awful since it is the only fry I have against 2 males and 3 females (one sadly passed away I think she was the one who had the babies) the swordtails both ignored him they just seem to mate all the time and the female chases the female platies away from the male swordtail.
When I found him, both the platy females were chasing him. Then the gold one tried to get to him through the trap. She doesn't bother now.
The cories obviously don't bother as he was in the slate cave with them when I found him. I am undecided!
p.s I love pink :D

So today I let my little baby out into the main tank and what a difference. He has been swimming in the middle of the tank with the rest of the fish and they haven't really bothered about him. My heart is still in my mouth when he comes face to face with my male swordtail who's the biggest one in there at almost 3 inches, but he just doesn't bother with him.
Thankyou once again oldman for your valuable advice, you are so knowledgeable and I respect what you say. I was a bit doubtful yesterday but I am glad I let him out, it is benefiting him already-I know this is going to sound insane but he's grown again and his fins and tail darkened as soon as he got out, they are now black and his face and belly are turning red
Such an adventurous little guy.

Here he is :)

I think that yellow platy is going to drop next as you can see in the pic- she's enormous.

Aww swimming like a big fish :)

You definitely let your girl flag fly Ny82 :) Your fry is so cute. I just let about 23 loose in my tank that were about 2-3 weeks old and they are doing good. Goodluck!
