clip

remember he does this all day every day

they're both large files so be prepared for a wait 1.1 M and 13 M respectivly

and I would like to note that I am quite the amature so ....

enjoy

Well enjoyed!

She definately has the brown stripe. He is definately crazy, probably for her. Her caudal fin isn't as clear though to tell she's a she.

Nice pictures and enjoyable tank. :kewlpics:

the other thing to note though, if she/he? was a he, wouldn't she/he? be the one chasing him around as she/he? is bigger thean him.

she/he? doesnt chase the other fish around and isnt prompted to try to make a bubble nest, though she/he? has a hint of orange on her caudal fin.

I've only seen one pic online for honey dwarf females and so I really dont know absolutely for certain....

If she/he? is really a he than he must surely be gay.

Hey mattbeau!

I have a male and two females. The male is smaller, slimmer. My male's tail fins show more orange color on the fringes.

The females are bigger, The caudal/under, rear section fin is deeper/wider all along the belly and back to the tail--more like a skirt, like the skirted tetras. The fins show less color along the fringes. The female is bigger and more discus-shaped (with a pointy nose of course.) The give away (besides the size/shape difference) is the brown stripe that goes along the side (both sides), front to back. It is very light when not ready to court, but it is still very lightly visable. It is very visable when ready to spawn. When the stripe isn't clear the shape is.

The cute little colorful guy is the male. It looks like the crazy guy is the male. I found some pics by googling of the females and males and some good descriptions.

I was commenting that the caudal fin wasn't as clear on the picture for sexing not that she's not a she. That stripe is a giveaway.

ahhhh.... that makes more sense I thought you were saying the caudal fin wasnt clear, as in transparent

btw I put him in time-out this morning for about 5 minutes inside the water change bucket, whilst removing the surface fake plants and water agitation barrier. and he seems to be much more relaxed, well as of right now anyways

In the betta forum I discovered that the caudal fin is not the one I was referring to. The skirted fin on the female is I assume called the anal fin. :*)

I enjoy the movie. :)

Glad he got a little rest.
