I have finally taken the plunge and moved mrs Bristlenose into the Rekord 70 tank, away from Mr. I agonised over this move for SO long- was it mean to move her into this tiny tank, would the filter crash, would her poo-ing risk the corys' barbels, would she beat the corys up...? But a new batch of tiny bristlies every 3 weeks was really getting too much. In the end the deed had to be done.
A week later the results are amazing. I am realising that I've hardly ever seen this fish out of stress colouration. And yet she had everything- big lightly stocked, bogwooded and planted tank, a constant supply of tasty vegetables and her family around her...well, exactly! She now has the air of someone enjoying a much needed holiday. She has not shown stress colouration once since she realised she was off on her own. She seems to be revelling in the company of unrelated strangers.
Maybe there is a moral here (thread falls silent as Dwarfgourami hops onto a train and rides off into the sunset).
