A Form of Algea?

about 2 weeks ago, I noticed small red 'dots' on the glass. it's more of brownish red. The snails go over it, but cant seem to eat it up (I scraped some of it with an algea scraper)

it forms mostly by the heater.

can anyone tell me what this is?

Edit: ok, I briefly did research, and it says its the best thing for live rock. If its growing on the glass, Im assuming they're growing on the live rock as well. should I leave it growing on the back of the glass? (its mostly behind live rock) or scrape it off? I just scraped the front and most of the sides.

and if Im getting this, then that should mean my tank is healthy and Im doing a good job now?
