"not everyone one can get hold of ammonia easily in the UK. infact I'ved never seen it for sale, only time i'ved seen it is in a science lab at school."

Exactly. That is why I thought it would be a good thing to sell in an lfs. I did find some in my local hardware store, but the fish shop would be a logical place to start looking.

ammonia can be quite a dangerous chemical in the wrong hands which is why not many places have it in the UK. just the smell of it can damage nerves in your nose.

i cycled my new 60g with 4 livebearers and it took me four and a half days.

any fish i've added since then is thriving :D
You cycled a tank for 4 fish in 4.5 days. Any fish you add afterwards will create a mini cycle. Anytime you cycle with fish, the tank is only cycled for the currect population. Every time you add more, the bacteria has to catch up with the waste.

If you are looking for a product to cycle a tank in 10 days fishless, wouldn't it be just as easy to sell ammonia?
no i am not looking for a product to cycle a tank :/

All I'm trying to do here is go through what my boss recomends
to our customers, to see if it really does work.

Just forget it. I give up trying to explain this post.
