A Few Questions

Ok well recently i made a post regarding being over run with snails, i have tried the lettuce trick and tried to get hold of some assasin snails but have had no luck. I am going to take my plants/ornaments out and clean them completely. I was also thinking of taking my gravel out and replacing it with Argos play sand. Will this put to much stress on the fish? How can i add the sand with out to much disruption?

When i replaced the Gravel in my 60l ( same gravel as yours btw ) i placed my fish in a plastic box with the filter and heater in and cover the box with a towel. I also placed a few plants in there for them to hide in.

This freed up the tank to do the change over. Worked a treat and the fish was only in the box for a few hours.

You're wasting your time trying to get rid of them manually, they'll just reproduce again, as long as you're not over feeding and your plants aren't decaying they shouldn't be a problem.

Ok thanks, its still ok to add sand though? do i need to wash the argos play sand?

My plants are in little pots should i remove them from the pots and bury the roots?

It's fine to add the sand, wash it well. Always take plants out of their pots, what plants do you have? Judging from the image in your sig just bury the roots in the substrate, separate them up a bit.

Hi those ones in the picture are plastic, i dont know the names of the ones i have now

So do i need to remove the fish to add the sand?
