Stunning, stunning fish!
You keep making me look at your fish, when you know how much I want them!

Wow, that is a fantastic photo!
How do you find the behaviour of them all together?
I may be turning my 5ft tank into tropical and would love a mix of Cichlids.
I did want a BGK but I know it seems to restrict the stocking a bit.
You've got a great mix of fish there and was just wondering what the aggression levels are like? Do you have problems with them uprooting plants?

oh my vinny is just :hyper: :good:

what kind of fish is he so spectactular looking

thanks :good: hes a severum

the blue acara was a bit big for his boots til he got put back in his place other than that the sevs are laid back just mooch around doing their own thing kribs even tho technicly a no-no in a sa tank just quietly go about spawning every few weeks and the geophagus just swim around together bombing round the sand like overgrow corys

if you do end up with sevs you wont regret it very fun fish to own. some of the stuff they get up to

forgot to answer about plants stang. i wouldnt bother with sevs just get some good silk ones if you want plants.

as a rule my sevs never uprooted plants ut just eat big chunks out of them. the only plant i found that they wouldnt eat was an onion plant. which as he couldnt eat it vinny just uprootedd it oit of spite

Great shots Mark.

Now *touch wood* I have live plants with my sevs, albeit with the odd chunk missing from the Fern and moss that gets ripped up and thrown around occassionally, but Ive found no problems with vallis, hygro polysperma, wisteria and obviously java fern and windelov fern, so it is possible to have a planted tank with sev's, just a case of training them

lol i gave up on plants cos everythin kept geting big holes eaten in it

Thanks to you both for your input on plants, I might attempt a couple and see how it goes!

if you attempt real plants with sevs go for tough leaved plants like onion plant . maximises your chance of success :good:
