I'm not jealous...... much!!

I love the angel tank!!! Do you have C02 in there or just good lighting? I have angels myself and am also toying with making the new tank malawi but am unsure!!

Cheers and thank you for showing us the tanks.

wow, thank for all the comment guys, all the juwel tanks are rio 240s, the planted tank, is mainly for the angels, but also holds a dozen cardinals, various cories a shoal of ? tetras (never been able to pin down and exact id) a few female guppies and two clown loach (rescued from a "friend"), which are very short term, just getting their body weight back before moving on, as for the plants in there, its just 4 x t8's and diy Co2 which cost £2.00 to set up and works as well as any shop bought system, if anyone wants to know how just let me know and i'll share the secret, i literally have to remove about a bucketfull of plants every 2 months just so i can see the fish!!

i actually have the planted and malawi tanks next to each other in my living room, i love the contrast of the green and lush and the barren and rocky.

basically the Co2 is:-

An empty 2l fizzy pop bottle
One of the rubber bungs the chemists sell to put into the top of medicine bottles (the hole in the middle fits airline perfectly)
Warm water
Sugar
Yeast
Bicarb of soda
Airline
a limewood airstone (finer bubbles)

half fill the bottle with warm water (not hot), add a cup of sugar and let it dissolve, add 2/3 a teaspoon of yeast powder and 1/2 a teaspoon of the bicarb of soda and give it a little shake

put in the bung and add the airline/airstone

works a treat and costs pennies

oh and thanks for the kind words about my avatar
