A Few Betta Questions!

Ive had my betta for 4 days now I just wonderd if its worth gettin some salt for my betta but on come across 2 types API salt and interpet aqualibrium salt wich one?

Also is it normal for bettas to wedge them selfs in plants to rest and swim against the glass back and forth?


I have other fish but bettas sure act wierd

I use regular aquarium salt (it should say on the box that its for freshwater fish) I add 1/2 teaspoon per gallon. Its keep the snail population down for me. I haven't tried it in any tank smaller than 2 gallons though.
As for your betta's behavior, what size tank is he in, how many plants and what kind? He may just be trying to hide... My betta likes to "sleep" in his plant but he's an older guy.

its a arcadia arc tank 20l with some dorset pea gravel and a few plastic plants

I only ever use salt for medical purposes and then i use the natural stuff from the supermarket as its pretty much the same thing but loads cheaper.

My boys seem to like to squish into small places to rest so it is totally normal just mind he doesn't get stuck somewhere he shouldn't
