As I said, this is kind of a dumb questions but since I don't know what to call this piece, I can't search the internet to find a new one. Basically, the piece I'm talking about is the plastic piece that attaches to a glass cover for a tank. You then cut slots or holes in it for your filter, heater and other things to go through. I am going to be changing filters (from 2 small to 1 larger one) on my 29 gallon so there will be too many holes left in the top of the tank if I don't buy a new piece.

I bought one about 2 years ago but the place I bought it at is out of business now. The largest LFS in my area doesn't have them.

Unlucky.
Just done a quick google and they seem to be referred to as 'plastic back strips'.
Have you tried the D.I.Y section?
I'm sure one could easily be bodged up with a condensation tray...

I made my last one out of egg crate. I know...this stuff has more uses than duct tape. LOL I swear by it, and always keep some around. :)

My recommendation, if you do make one out of egg crate is to attach some fiberglass screen to it, to keep the little ones from jumping out. ;)

Actually, I may just use duct tape to cover the holes. I'm sure that wouldn't be too hard to do.

What you probably have is a all-glass versa-top glass cover. It has a plastic flap for the back. Not sure if they sell the black piece seperately.
