does not the freeze dried blood worm look red in color, because i bought a pack and the worms sort of look brown colored

This is normal, they usually go brown when they are dried. You should soak them in water for a minute or two before you give them to your betta, because sometimes they swell up in the stomach and cause blockages if you don't.
