I euthanized a little diamond head neon tetra tonight. He was from my first schooling community purchase. I bought 6 diamond heads for my Eclipse 12 first community tank. (I had already bought 3 otos and had two small feeder fish.)He has been struggling for weeks, unable to swim properly after he was damaged in a kamakazi war of the serpaes. (The serpaes are no longer in the big community tank!
) The litte diamond head has fought on bravely unable to really control his swimming: spinning, spireling, drifting, fighting off other hungry fish. He didn't have much choice really. But he had gotten so weak that he was now floating.
I smashed him in the sink.
