A Couple Of Beginner Questions

hi all,

just a couple of beginner things really -

can you make a do it your self gravel cleaner if not where can i buy one of these things.

my fish's poo are regularly long white and stringy, one of my plecos had a poo about four inches long it was really long. i feed him cucumber and algae wafers.

am i making my fish sick how can i sort it so they poo normal

gravel vac is basically a hose so yeah you can make one however you should be able to buy one for about £3
long poo normally means constipation and can be sorted with a couple of shelled peas

Yes you are definately able to make your own gravel vac. You can even make your own python, click here to find out what a python is and how it works.

Check out some of the pinned topics in the Hardware & Do-It-Yourself subforum to get more ideas.

Hopefully this can help you out! However generally (atleast in the area that I live in) it is almost cheaper to buy a gravel vac from a LFS or discount store than actually spending the money to create one yourself. Good Luck!

last night bought myself a gravel cleaner £6-99 and it works quite well took out half the water and did a 50% water change looks a bit better i am going to do it again this weekend my gravel is turning back to black yippee
