i heard that for khuli loaches you need sand. but im waiting a few months before i get the loaches. i was wondeirng if when i make the transition for gravel to sand if ill have to let the tank run empty for a few days. is that true? also is this good to get fish... p.h. 7.0 and amonia leval is .75. oh ya i got a new filter it is the penguin 150 bio-wheel power filter. 30 gallon. For my set up i have a piece of driftwood. a lava rock. and some fake plants that i got for $1 and they were normally $11. and gravel bottom. the aquarium is lighted of course. the new filter has been running for 3 days now. is it ready to put fish in it to cycle my tank? sorry about the randomness of this post but im a begginer at owning fish so i appreciate any help offered. thanks for your time B)

If you're changing from gravel to sand, I'd do it ASAP. Cycling, fishless cycle is far better.

That isnt neccasarly true I have 2 kuli loaches and they do fine in gravel (it just takes them longer to burry themselves).
your Ph is good, but let your tank cycle a bit first.
