A Bit Of Advice Please (New Tank)

im getting a new tank in the next few months and it will be replacing the existing tank so need to get it run in straight away, it comes with a fluval 305 which is new and not mature so if i put the old filters in that are currently in there tank it will be instantly cycled right ?, but i want to use the 305 eventually so could i run this at the same time ? or should i wait a little while before switching the 305 on ?
the fish have to be moved over within the day as they will be in buckets till the new tank is up to temp as the new tank is going where the old tank is

Yes,I would run the old filters and the new filter on the new tank for a few weeks.
Would also not try to add too many more fish too quickly.

hi the existing tank is a 112L running 2xfluval 3+, the new tank is about 250L

I would suggest taking the two old filters out and sticking them in the new tank, both of them "should" be enough to keep the tank filtered, i suggest one at each end.

Then i would be tempted to fill you new 305 filter up with bio media noodles/cermaics in all 3 trays (6 compartments) and hooking it up to the old tank and do a full on fishless cycle on it. When done, (4/5 weeks later) you could then remove the old filters from the new tank and add the 305 to it.

Alternatively do a fishless cycle on the new tank with the 305 and wait until its ready to add fish.

Either way, you will to some degree kick off a mini cyle im sure, so make sure you have your liquid test kit to hand. It shouldnt be too much of a mission though.
