Now this idea isn't set in stone, just something I've been playing around with. But there are tons of horse rescues, dog rescues etc. where people take in injured, abused and neglected animals, and rehabilitate them, sometimes adopt them out or sometimes keep them in sanctuary, so I thought, why not a rescue for bettas. I have tons of knowledge regarding bettas, and I have the means to accomplish it, I have enough space and tanks to house up to 10 or so bettas at a time. Think this would be a good idea? lol, its just something I'm playing around with, imput would be great! :good:

it can work, as long as you realise it will be a lot of money out of your own pocket with nothing, or next to nothing back!
and that you do genuinely rescue the bettas, not buy them. freebies only! if they really are in such a bad state a store shouldn't be selling them anyway. and also that you genuinely have the time over the next few years to care for all the little guys! and not be off to college or something next year and suddenly have 10+ bettas to offload.

It could work... If you know exactly what your going to do... How will you get people to know about your Betta recscue, will you put a post on this forum... on other aquatic websites, etc...

as long as you dont buy them, rescuing might work. if you buy them, the store will think, hrmm, this person is willing to buy a betta in this condition? so they will buy more. itll be a neverending cycle
