Just thought I would share this with all the folks on here :) I'm not sure if you would use these bulbs to grow the plants, more just to 'show them off' when thaking phots, etc.

Anyone over this side of the pond know anything about these? Cant seem to find a stockist here either (have emails AE)

Llj imagine what your tanks would look like with one of these over them! the fish would go blind with all the red!

PS got these pics from APC pinned article

Nice find Voo, and by the looks of the light spectrum they don't produce to much blue light either which could be a problem with marine lighting. Shame its not T5, the marine T5 I think would have to much blue which would mean major algae!

Sam

Although if you just used it for taking photos then it wouldn't matter about the blue i guess! Might see if I can find one and see how it works, guess Ill also need some red plants too!

Sodding hell! Thats dedication, either that or its obsession taken to the extreme!

Yeah these 9325k are standard General electric T8 tubes, when i say standard they are standard in the USA, I tried to find these over here and couldnt find them, B&Q carry a large range of GE light bulb/tubes so if you have one local its probably worth checking out to see if they stock them, another tube worth looking out for is a standard GE 6500k T8 tube (it will have 6500k printed on the tube) I could find these ok but in the wrong size, anyway basically these are dirt cheap 6500k T8 tubes if you can find them, had them in my local B&Q.

Cheers Zig, will pop and have a look sometime

The 9325K tubes are unique in their red spectral peak for such a high K tube. Most Americans balance the intense reds with a 6700K or 10000K, not sure which manufacturer/models.

I also hear the Phililps Aquarelle 10000K T8 is good for red and these are available in the UK.

Most 6500K IME aren't great for red, brilliant for greens though. I like the Triplus (8300K?) for a bit of red and blue.

Nice link James. Thanks.

Well I have to say I wondered, being 9325k. There is a noticeable degradation in greens in that pic when using the 9325K, I guess you cant have everything!

Sam

Don't know how they compare, but AquaEssentials usually stock an 11,000K Realux T6 tube which will fit into most T8 fitments.
