Hi :)

I've Got a 90L tank with 5 Tiger Barbs, 8 Neon Tetras and 5 Penguin Tetras.

How much more fish can i add? i don't want to overstock my tank.

also, is there any bottom feeders that would go well in this tank?

Thanks :)

You would be best to up your tiger barb numbers to around 10 to keep aggression within the group. Maybe try a bristlenose pleco for the bottom.

I would consider rehoming the tetra as I think that the barbs may nip them and be slightly too aggressive. Then you will be fine.

Ok, The Tiger Barbs don't nip much but if a Tetra is ill they will.

hi there,

up your barbs to 10 as suggested and they should leave your neons alone. you could think about a group of corys for the bottom of your tank.

L. :good:

yeah i saw some corys at my LFS Today but i thought they might be fish that would grow too big for the tank. I am guessing i am wrong?

Which Cory's were they? There are over a hundred different species. Most of them max out at a couple of inches, but some are a lot smaller and some larger.

I didn't really look at the corys properly as i was just walking past the tank. I remember seeing a sign saying assorted corys but i'm not sure if this was anywhere near this tank because they all seemed the same.

i remember them being quite small and a greyish colour and there were lots of them in the tank.

If i did get some corys i've got a few questions:

1) What would i feed them?

2) would i feed them at the same time as the other fish?

3)how many could i add?

1) They will eat the same food as your other fish really, but the problem is making sure it gets to the bottom. So try catfish pellets, sinking granular foods or an algae wafer from time to time.

2) yep.

3) No less than six. I'd actually go for six in your tank size.

Sounds like the cories you've seen are bronzes, which are on the bigger side for cories. If you're worried about their size you could try a smaller variety like pandas.

so once again, how much fish can i add?

it really depends on what fish you want! It's impossible to say something like 'you could add ten more fish' because it depends on the type/size/temperament/requirements of whatever fish you're thinking of.

I'm not really looking at anything over a maximum size of 6 cm
