ooh they are quite bright.

yea, they are beautiful fish and very active. I'd get a bunch of them.

I have an empty 55g that's been sitting around and I'm thinking of setting it up and getting 12-15 of them for it. Of course, my favorite fish ever, Melanochromis chipokae, will be the centerpiece.

hmm. i may be taking a trip to that store again this weekend. i'll have a look at what they have there. they had a ton of different cory types there. i think the only listed fish i've seen there are angels, tetras and of course cories.

If i was you, I wouldn't put 12-15 of them into a 55gallon tank... I've got 14 in a 75gallon tank... trust me they grow fairly large, most will reach atleast 4.5"-8", some exced 10", I recommend maximum of 10 for a 55gallon tank, this also prevents alot of territory issues...

Thank you for the advice. :)

I always get 12-15 so I can cull 4 or 5 out after a few months and get the best situation possible. I buy them very small so I'll have a couple months. I want to end up with 7-9 when all is said and done. I'm just getting Mbuna so they won't get bigger than 4-5".

Per aggression, I always add all the fish and a week later I add the M chipokae. He always works his way to the top and once there, he doesn't allow anyone else to fight and IME at least, he doesn't fight much either after he's the boss of the tank. Over the years, I've done this setup and it's worked like a charm for harmony.

(Watch it not work now as I probably just jinxed it! lol)
