9 Gallon

Some people go by the rule of 1" of adult fish per gallon, so not very many. You have struggled with your bigger tank, do you know all about the cycle process now?

yes i do
i may just get get one for crimbo its 9 gallons so what fish could i have
its hexagonal

The rules seems to be 1 inch of fish (their eventual adult size) per US Gallon..

so thats nine inches of fish if its 9 US gallons or a couple more if its UK gallons..

The local fish shop can advise you on the adult size of different fish, or you can look it up on many websites such as.. Thinkfish or thetropicaltank

EDIT: too slow at typing again...

Bettas.. im a bit useless on that front, hence my recent thread called which fish.. im a complete newbie..

I will leave that one to the more experience people on here.. i would go for a group of small but colourful ones.. some type of tetra etc..

in the thread i had running people recommended palites mollies and guppies for a bit of colour, but im not sure how big they grow, and you could house enough for them to be comfortable.

i take it with a name like bettas, you already have one of those ;) .. how about another one and a couple of small cory's ??

It is not only a question of gallons; some hexes (like my hospital tank) have very little surface area so end up with a capacity of much less than their gallons- also of course much less swimming space. If it is tall rather than long, that will complicate matters. Can you give us the dimensions?

i did it died
i may get some tetras

yes here u go
H=20
w=12 1/2
d=9 1/2all in inches

Funny.
You could keep a small school of tetras maybe, with a few corys for the bottom

so not bad size really is it
how about 4 neons or cardinial tetras
4 glowlights
and 2 corys
