Hey all :) While since I posted.

I've got an 80L tank currently with 4 glowlight tetras, a platy, and 2 amano shrimp in. (all very small obviously).

In any case, i'm wonder what else I can put in here... whether it be a main fish (that wont eat the others).. or some other different small ones.

Any ideas, suggestions etc grately appreciated! :)

Oh, here is a pic :)

i would up the tetras to 8 and the platys to 3
then get
8 corys or a bn or 4 upside down catfish
a pair of apisto
and a pair of gourami
hows that?

I love the sound of that, but wouldn't that be very overstocked? Or are they all small fish?

Oh, what's a bn btw?

how many lph does your filter do?
it looks fine to me.
honey gourami woyld be best and keep the platys all the same sex.

Any idea how I tell what sex my platy is, and what they are?

I've no idea what LPH my filter is, it's the standard one that comes with the tank. (Juwell). But i'm going to add a small filter aswell to help the tank out a bit more... as it's a spare (only a tiny one)

in females the anal fin is spread out and in males it comes to a point.
this pic might help more

i dont have a clue how many lph it would be then someone else might know that has one. how many lph is the little one you want to add.

Thanks for the help so far :)

The little one i'm putting in is a fluval plus which apparently is Pump output: 50 gallons/hr - 200 Litres/hr

Great thanks! Just put it in there now and both are now working away. :)

For anyone else feel free to post more ideas! Glad to hear them as wont be buying any till tommorow at earliest.

Here is it after the changes I just did, also added the coconut shell that I made over a year ago for a cave (was in an old tank)

can probably see the platy on the left there :) black/yellow

I second the cory idea, although they need sand ideally. It would be easy to change though if all your plants are fake? The cheap playsand from argos would be perfect.
And larger shoals always look better, so def. up the glolights.
Pentazona barbs look like tiger barbs, but aren't aggressive and nippy. A shoal of those would be nice.
Honey gouramis, maybe a trio would be a nice visual change in shape and they are also peaceful.

A group of harlequin tetras- maybe 6- would look nice. They school and are quite active so fun to watch.

looks good. i normaly have the coconut facing down and chop a little of one of the sides to make a small hole rather than having half of it open.

Hey all,

Kizno, I took your advice and got another Platy (Male so no problems) amazing colours (striking orange)

I also got two unusual fish for the tank (a pair) - they had honey gouramis and glowlights in, but I didn't want to add more than 3 in at the moment even with 2 filters running, will add more in a month or so if all goes well.

Sorry about the images, only used my iPhone to grab them :)

Wonder what i'll add next, I do need to add atleast 2 for the glowlights to up them to 6.

nice platy i used to have one exactly like the red one. i like hatchets never had one but always liked them. just make sure you have a tight fitting lid because they love to jump. yh the best thing to do next would be to up the glowlights to 6.

Ah thanks for telling me! I have two small holes for leads etc at the back of the lid so will definately cover them with card or something straight away! Chances are i'll heard headbutting of the lid every now and then, then? lol.

Will definately up the glowlights to 6 in a few weeks time, as said not sure where to to afterwards.

By the way, the filters are both running now as said, i've looked into it and the Fluval 1+ does 50gallon/150litre per hour, not sure what my internal Juwel filter does... but does it matter that one pump is huge and the other relatively smaller?

I'm going to also be taking the top sponge out of juwel and replacing tommorow as it's pretty brown!
